  • Setup the K&M stand and ensure it is level and stable.

  1. Slightly loosen the clamping screw on the tripod shaft sleeve.

  2. Unfold the legs until the strut sections are horizontal.

  3. Re-tighten the clamping screw.

Normal hand strength is sufficient; please avoid over-tightening the screw as this will strain the stand sections.

Adjust the height before mounting the speaker.

  • For seated audiences, shoulder height is normally sufficient.

  • For standing audiences, raise the speaker above shoulder height where practical.

Mounting the Speaker

The weather cover may be omitted only when weather conditions are expected to remain dry throughout the event. However, using the cover whenever practical will help protect the equipment and extend its service life. Otherwise weather proof the speaker as detailed below before mounting.

To mount the speaker onto the stand, two people are recommended: one person lifts the speaker while the second person guides it safely onto the stand pole.

Ensure the speaker is fully seated and secure before releasing it.

Weather Protection

Speaker Cover

The EV EVERSE loudspeaker is designed for outdoor use and features a weatherised enclosure with an IP43 rating when fitted with the supplied weather cover. This makes it suitable for use in light rain and outdoor environments; however, it is not intended for prolonged exposure to heavy rain, standing water, or water ingress.

Protecting the Wireless Receiver

The Sennheiser EW-D receiver is not weatherproof and must be protected from rain When operating outdoors:

  • The receiver should be positioned within the protected area of the speaker and protective zip up bag where possible.

  • If the receiver cannot be housed within the speaker cover, it should be placed inside a suitable weatherproof bag or enclosure.

  • The wireless signal will pass easily through soft materials.

  • Ensure cables can enter and exit the enclosure without allowing water to run directly onto the receiver.

  • Check regularly that the receiver remains dry throughout the event.

If Rain is Expected

If there is any possibility of rain during an event:

  • Fit the EV EVERSE weather cover before use.

  • Ensure the Sennheiser receiver is protected by the weather cover or a weatherproof enclosure.

  • Route cables so water cannot run directly into connectors.

  • Periodically check equipment remains dry.

During Heavy Rain

If heavy rain develops during an event:

  • Disconnect mains power where safe to do so.

  • Switch off equipment if conditions become unsafe.

  • Move the speaker, receiver and associated equipment to a sheltered location as soon as practical.

Packing Away

Switch off microphone, receiver and speaker.

Use two people to remove the speaker from the stand.

Fold and store the stand.

Check all equipment has been turned off before packing into the bags.

Make sure equipment is dried before long periods of storage.
